I enjoyed this book, and I will read Gaiman again; however I did not like it as much as I expected. I think perhaps because I liked The Graveyard Book so well I had preconceived notions of how this book would be. It has some creative details, and I love the language (very British,) but I cannot put my finger on what seems to be missing for me. However, as I said it is enjoyable, and I would recommend it to others who enjoy fantasy.

I have this book, and I cannot wait until I have time to read it. It was recommended to me by one of my students who saw me reading Gaiman's The Graveyard Book. I had not read this author before that, and I really enjoyed his writing. I am glad to have another one of his books to try.

This book sounds like it has a good lesson to teach in it. Are there other books with Wallace Wallace in them? It sounds vaguely familiar.

This book has a title that sounds nothing like the summary. I was surprised to find the summary appealed to me. I am definitely going to have to check this one out. Thanks for sharing.

Reading this synopsis reminds me of a story about a guy that made an abandoned school into a rec center for the inter city kids to come to. It was a great story with a great ending. Hope this is too.

re the jan 13 2011 show The question was what scientist invented pasteurization and the adult didn't know. The little boy had locked in his answer which was pasture. they said it was correct. Come on now that should not have been called correct. Pasture means something completely different. The pronounciation of pasture not even close to pasteur. Is this the American way.

I think we can all agree that any book is going to seem worse if we are forced to read it- but the book itself was pretty good. More interesting to me than the clear theme of family devotion and the power children have, is the less obvious theme of overcoming disability and utilizing your weaknesses displayed in the detectives.
